betaphimu

The Beta Phi Mu chapter at the Emporia State University School of Library and Information Management, started in 1973, is known as “Beta Epsilon.” The purpose of this chapter is to recognize high scholarship in the study of librarianship and to sponsor appropriate professional and scholarly projects.

Beta Phi Mu members are encouraged to become Sustaining Members of our chapter organization — committing to make a donation of at least $12/year for Regular Members and $22/year for Professional Members.

Your donation ensures that the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Beta Phi Mu continues to function as an integral part of our profession by:

  • presenting an annual program of interest to a wide range of library professionals.
  • promoting and providing scholarships for Library and Information Science students.
  • promoting and underwriting continuing education for our members.
  • acknowledging the contributions of outstanding professionals in our field.
  • supporting the professional library organizations in states where SLIM is a teaching presence.
  • providing leadership opportunities within the chapter and the national Beta Phi Mu organization.
